Mercy Hospital offers endoscopy services as part of its Digestive Disease and Surgery Institute. These services include both diagnostic and therapeutic procedures for various gastrointestinal conditions including colonoscopies, bronchoscopies, endobronchial ultrasounds and esophagogastroduodenoscopies. As an RN on this team, you will assist fellow caregivers in delivering exceptional care, from initial introduction to final send-off following their procedure. In this role, you will interact directly with patients, families and visitors, offering the opportunity to enhance their experience and supply healthcare education as needed. Additionally, the Cleveland Clinic system provides nurses with many professional development resources, including furthering education and online/in-person courses to enhance your skills.

A PRN caregiver in this position works varying days from 6:00AM – 2:30PM or 7:00AM – 3:30PM, with on-call requirements.

A caregiver who excels in this role will:  

\n

\n
• Provide direct nursing care. 
\n

\n

\n
• Implement, monitor, evaluate, update and revise patient care plans.  
\n

\n

\n
• Monitor, record, document and communicate patients’ conditions.  
\n

\n

\n
• Administer prescribed medications and treatments. 
\n

\n

\n
• Note and carry out physician and nursing orders.  
\n

\n

\n
• Assess and coordinate patients’ discharge needs. 
\n

\n

\n
• Educate patients and their families.   
\n

\n

\n
• Maintain professional growth and development through ongoing formal and informal education and clinical nursing study. 
\n

\n

 

\n

Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:  

\n

\n
• Graduate from an accredited school of professional nursing (Diploma, ADN or BSN program) 
\n

\n

\n
• Current state licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN) 
\n

\n

\n
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross 
\n

\n

\n
• One-year of current acute care RN experience. Will consider military RN experience 
\n

\n

 

\n

Preferred qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include: 

\n

\n
• Bachelor’s of Science in Nursing (BSN) 
\n

\n
\n

Physical Requirements:

\n

\n
• Requires full range of body motion including handling and lifting patient, manual and finger dexterity, and eye-hand coordination.
\n
• Requires standing and walking for extended periods of time.
\n
• Requires corrected vision and hearing to normal range.
\n
• Requires working under stressful conditions and irregular hours.
\n
• Exposure to communicable diseases and/or body fluids.
\n
• Medium Work - Exerting 20 to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 10 to 25 pounds of force frequently, and/or greater than negligible up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects.
\n
• Physical Demand requirements are in excess of those for Light Work.
\n

Pay Range

\n

\n

Minimum hourly: $43.00

\n

\n

Maximum hourly: $43.00

\n

The pay range displayed on this job posting reflects the anticipated range for new hires. A successful candidate’s actual compensation will be determined after taking factors into consideration such as the candidate’s work history, experience, skill set and education.
